Midterm Date: November 22 in class

The midterm (in French, "partiel") will be in class on Tuesday, November 22 for both the Writing Paragraphs and Comprehension class. The midterm is to help you identify how well you are doing in this course. It will not be a large percentage of your grade. This is what will be on the exam:

Writing Paragraphs: Write a 5 sentence paragraph (on a topic that I will give you) using the correct structure of a paragraph (topic sentence, supporting sentences, concluding sentence).

Comprehension: Listening comprehension: answer comprehension questions (including defining a word using context clues) and identifying the main idea.

  1. I'm not against midterm, for it is really a test to our potentials, but just a prior reminder; student unions WILL interrupt the test. They say there should be one exam only(at the end of the year)to them, those "american methods" of midterms and ways of teaching, should not be accepted! because the environment and university circumstances here in morocco(in fes to be precise) are totally different than they are in america!

  2. The midterm is not a test. It is simply an in-class exercise. I will look at it and return it to you.

  3. If you're worried about listening comprehension, do some of the exercises on http://www.voanews.com/specialenglish/home. They are similar to what we'll do on Nov 22nd.
